Internship Reflection

End of Semester/Internship Reflection

My practice operations internship at IU Health GI and Hepatology was the most important experience in my academic journey. I am so grateful that I was able to work with them and learn as much as I did. Shadowing all of the different administrative positions was eye opening and taught me so much about what the day to day operations look like.

Another important thing about my internship is how many projects I was able to help or work on by myself. I was able to experience what it would be like to be a full time worker rather than an intern. My supervisor was always their to help and that provided a comfortable learning experience.

I also was also able to participate in weekly meetings for metric improvement in our department. This gave me the experience of working with a team that is trying to create a shared vision. I was also a part of the 3 day retreat that sets the goals for the weekly meeting every year.

Overall this internship was incredible for my academic journey and it gave me confidence in what I wanna do for my career. This department gave me a great learning environment and I am excited to use what I have learned in the future.
